The school was established in 2016 and is a development emanating from an aftercare set up that started in 2010. We are registered with the Ministry of Education as a pre-primary school and affiliated with online school providers in offering Grade 1-7 with the International British Curriculum. Our pre-primary phase is geared towards the preparation of the children for Grade 1, so they are school and life ready.
What is the International British Curriculum?
The International British Curriculum is based on the world’s most widely recognised British system of learning and assessment, boasting more than 160 years of existence. It is a highly regarded and accredited primary and secondary school programme that allows a seamless integration with national curricula worldwide. This is largely owing to its design, which encompasses global concepts, making it fully international and independent of traditional educational philosophy.
Benefits of the International British Curriculum.
- A highly regarded and accredited primary and secondary school programme that allows seamless integration with national curricula worldwide.
- A passport to international tertiary education, accepted for college/ university admission in over 160 countries.
- Designed to encompass global concepts, being fully international and independent of traditional educational philosophy.
- An opportunity to personalise the individual’s learning programme according to their strengths, interests, and cultural preferences.
- Unrivalled in its flexibility with respect to the timing of the end-ofprogramme assessments, with the individual student deciding when to sit final exams.
- A competency-based approach to education, without age restrictions (although there are recommended ages at which different levels should be undertaken).
- Open to students to tailor their subject choices according to the various nations’ requirements for a school-leaving certification.
- Ideal preparation for both tertiary studies and for the world of work, rigorously emphasising higher order thinking skills that are transferable in the future.
With experience with working with children from different backgrounds and schools, it became necessary to create an environment that works on strengthening the weaknesses of the existing systems.
